Hello. My name is Hugo Ferreira, a Portuguese born next to the sea, from a city called Setúbal.
My progress into equine photography started with my wife, a dressage rider for many years. My photographic skills combines learnings from everyone I have/had the pleasure to work with but also by my constant mindset in being better everyday, to provide great quality images. "The road for quality never ends", some say.

"Totally amazing service. This was my first visit to Netherton Equestrian Centre and also our first ever qualifying show at this level. HKF photography captured several beautiful pictures of our big day and not only made us look “professional” but also captured a lovely portrait photo of me and my horse standing in the lineup.
There is obviously an understanding of the love and partnerships between horse and rider and you did not fail to capture this in all of your pictures of all competitors standing in the lineup.
Also, the albums were uploaded so quickly and before I’d even made it home from the event, I’d ordered pictures of the day and within 24 hours they had arrived in my inbox.

This is the ONLY show we bought photos from last year (and this year).
And because it was the only one we attended where you took them!
The quality of the photos, the aspect, the moment captured and the service after was enormously better than any other existing equine show photographer on the circuit to date.
I wish other photographers would take the time to capture special moments for people like us - amateurs who spend all our spare pennies enjoying our ponies & just want a nice photo to remember special moments by. 🥰"
"I sometimes cringe when I see which photographer is covering an event, as some just aren’t “horsey photographers” - they don’t understand what we, as riders, want from a photo. They are usually good photographers, but just never get the right shots. Whenever I see Hugo is shooting an event, I breathe a huge sigh of relief, followed by a moment of acceptance that I am going to spent A LOT of money on photos, as I know there will be far too many perfect shots to only choose one! HKF always manages to capture the perfect moment, not a second too early or a second too late. The images are technically perfect, framed beautifully and always exceptional quality. Not to mention they are uploaded and sent out at the speed of light, perfect for impatient riders such as myself 🤣 There is literally nothing more I would look for in a photographer! You’ve captured some of my happiest moments down at Netherton, I have too many favourites to choose from, but I really love this one - taking Veteran Champion with our orange superstar, Mick 🥰."

One afternoon at dressage, my talented but sometimes awkward little mare decided that she couldn’t possibly go anywhere near Hugo in the warm up. This is Hugo, that she’d seen Every Single Time she was at this venue 🤦🏼♀️ Absolutely no way, go anywhere near him. I’m thinking oh no, I’ll never get her up that long side between the boards.
